Mid Century Lighting: Our New Range

Mid Century Lighting: Our New Range

In an era increasingly focused on sustainability and eco-conscious living, mid-century lighting holds appeal for its timeless designs and durable construction. Many vintage mid-century fixtures have already stood the test of time, and their timeless appeal means they can be easily incorporated into modern interiors, reducing the need for new manufacturing and contributing to a more sustainable approach to design.

Eco Sustainable House has teamed up with Gold Coast manufacturer Lightworks to launch our new lighting range. Lightworks specialises in architectural lighting, designing and providing lighting solutions that enhance the aesthetics, functionality, and overall experience of internal and external spaces.

For over 30 years, they have worked on a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, public spaces, and landscape lighting, providing expert advice to Architects, Designers and Lighting Consultants, tailoring the needs & vision of each project.

Operating from the heart of the South East Queensland, on the Gold Coast, Lightworks is a family-owned Australian business and all lighting fittings are designed and manufactured in house.

Sustainable Business

Choosing local manufacturers stimulates economic growth within our community. By investing in local businesses we contribute to job creation, bolstering employment opportunities for residents and helping to sustain a vibrant local economy.

In addition, local manufacturing typically results in reduced transportation distances for raw materials and finished products. This helps reduce carbon emissions associated with transportation, contributing to environmental sustainability and mitigating the ecological impact of production processes.

Tips for Incorporating Mid-Century Lighting

  1. Mix and Match: Don't be afraid to mix different styles of mid-century lighting fixtures for a curated yet eclectic look.
  2. Focus on Statement Pieces: Choose one or two standout fixtures to serve as focal points in your space, whether it's a dramatic pendant light or a sculptural floor lamp.
  3. Consider Scale and Proportion: Pay attention to the scale of your lighting fixtures in relation to the size of your space. A large room may benefit from oversized fixtures, while smaller rooms may require more petite options.
  4. Layer Your Lighting: Combine ambient, task, and accent lighting to create depth and dimension in your space. Consider incorporating wall sconces, table lamps, and overhead fixtures for a layered effect.
